The conical shape not only creates a roof with a classical architectural form, suitable for the palace space, but is also very efficient from a technical point of view: the steep slope allows rainwater to drain quickly and creates a natural air convection zone, keeping the space below cooler.
Technical Material: PVDF stretch film
The covering material is a high-grade PVDF membrane, consisting of a layer of synthetic fibers and two protective PVDF coatings. This coating has the functions of UV resistance, waterproofing, anti-mold and especially good insulation. Using PVDF membrane instead of traditional roofing materials helps to significantly reduce the load on the frame and foundation system.
Minimalist Structural System
Thanks to the tensile properties of the membrane, the supporting structure is designed to be minimalist, mainly consisting of a central steel column and thin struts or tension cables.
