What is the problem for the Indo cafeteria pedestrian bridge roofing system?

The customer was looking for a solution to cover the pedestrian bridge - a bridge used to connect two office buildings together. The requirement is that the roof form must be light, simple, and structurally limited because the building cannot withstand heavy loads and there is another path underneath. In addition to the existing building limitations, the location of this pedestrian bridge canopy is also hindered by a very tall coconut row and the architect absolutely does not want to cut it down, so a special solution is needed.

Pedestrian bridge roofing solution in harmony with nature

After considering all possible solutions and options cone-shaped stretch canvas roof was selected for this pedestrian bridge roofing system. With 2 high peaks and contours using tension cables to shape, it helps increase the coverage area and ensure the ventilation of the walkway. At locations where coconut tree trunks penetrate the roof, we leave a round hole slightly larger than the diameter of the tree trunk and the tarpaulin at this location is manually welded at the construction site.

Besides, the stretch canvas structural system is also carefully calculated to bring high aesthetic effect and reduce the maximum load of the iron structural system.

With the above design, the pedestrian bridge roof system is extremely airy with two raised cones, helping people feel comfortable moving inside. The raised roof shape has an air vent and a stretch canvas material that keeps the convection air below from being hot.

Besides, this raised cone shape also makes rainwater drainage easier. Rainwater will drain freely from the sides, and there will be a drainage channel at the lowest edge of the roof. The lever arms protrude from the covered area of the pedestrian bridge below, keeping the pedestrian bridge area completely dry.
