Current situation and solution: Spherical factory – Optimizing storage and production space
In industries that require large storage spaces for goods, raw materials or production activities, traditional factory solutions often face limitations in construction costs, construction time, and especially the obstruction of internal columns, reducing the efficiency of movement and arrangement. To overcome these challenges, the bridge factory has emerged as an advanced architectural solution, providing column-free space, optimal protection from weather impacts and optimized operations.

Technical Requirements Analysis & Solution Context
The demand for industrial factories, warehouses and production areas requires high technical criteria in terms of protection of assets from environmental conditions (sun, rain, wind, snow, pests), large capacity, and especially airy interior space, not obstructed by columns. Traditional construction solutions often require solid foundations to withstand large structural loads, which is costly and time-consuming. The context requires a factory system that can be deployed quickly, does not affect existing infrastructure, is able to withstand harsh weather conditions, and at the same time optimizes the internal usable area to effectively serve the activities of moving, loading and unloading goods and production lines.

Technical Solutions
The bridge-shaped factory is a breakthrough architectural solution, built on a sturdy frame system combined with high-quality stretch fabric materials, providing outstanding efficiency in protecting and optimizing industrial space.
Frame Structure and Materials
The frame of the bridge-shaped workshop is made of high-grade aluminum profiles, steel or galvanized aluminum, ensuring durability and load-bearing capacity. These materials are selected to optimize weight, making the overall structure of the workshop significantly lighter than traditional structures. This helps to minimize the requirement for high-load foundations, significantly saving construction time and costs.
Design and Installation Principles
The bridge-shaped factory is able to stand freely without any support columns or pillars in the interior space. This creates a completely open, airy space without obstacles, extremely convenient for moving, loading and unloading goods, inputting materials and large production lines. The detailed design from the frame system, connecting components to cutting and sewing the stretch canvas are all pre-processed and manufactured in parts at the factory, ensuring high accuracy. The construction and installation process usually starts from the bottom up, with the struts carefully measured and connected by specialized steel plates. Then, the exterior and interior are covered with a layer of stretch canvas material depending on the usage needs. The canvas layer can be in one piece or divided into modules, with the ability to create gaps between the layers for insulation and noise reduction.
Resilience and Optimization
- Weather resistance: With a hemispherical dome shape without flat surfaces, the spherical factory creates excellent air circulation areas, reducing wind resistance from many directions. Careful calculations on specialized engineering software help this structure withstand strong winds of up to 250 km/h. The modular frame system combined with tensile stress from the reinforced canvas also helps the factory withstand heavy snow loads and heavy rain in the most severe weather conditions.
- Energy optimization: Thanks to its geometrical characteristics, the space inside the spherical factory can continuously circulate natural air, creating ventilation. The surface stretch fabric has many material options, allowing light penetration/blocking, receiving/blocking solar energy and blocking UV rays, helping to save lighting and cooling energy compared to traditional factories.
- Flexible and Versatile: The ball-shaped warehouse can easily integrate gates and doors of any shape and size, convenient for the movement of trucks, containers, cranes, and conveyors. The ability to design to reach a capacity of less than 27 million kg to more than 350 million kg of grain (or equivalent goods and raw materials) shows high flexibility in application.

Results and Performance Evaluation
The bridge factory solution offers superior technical and economic efficiency. Construction time is significantly reduced due to prefabricated components in the factory (for example, the Marvel Dome project in Thailand was completed in just one night), minimizing the impact on existing infrastructure. The light weight of the structure saves on foundation costs. More importantly, the column-free interior space optimizes the usable area, facilitating all operations, from loading and unloading to production. The ability to withstand harsh weather conditions and high energy efficiency reduces long-term operating and maintenance costs, providing a significant competitive advantage for businesses.
