  • Absolute corrosion resistance: The Maldives environment has extremely high concentrations of salt in the air and humidity, requiring all metal components to have superior corrosion resistance to avoid rust and structural deterioration.
  • UV Resistance and Colorfastness: Located near the equator, the Maldives has very strong ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Roofing materials must be absolutely UV resistant to prevent aging, brittleness or fading over time.
  • Structural safety against storms: Resorts in the Maldives are often exposed to strong winds and seasonal storms. The roof structure must be calculated and designed to ensure absolute safety under the impact of high wind loads.

PTFE stretch film: The membrane material of choice is PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) coated with glass fibres. Its ultra-smooth surface also prevents the adhesion of salt and dirt, making the structure self-cleaning.

316L Stainless Steel Structure: The entire structural system, including columns, beams, cables and the smallest connecting details, are made from 316L stainless steel. This type of steel contains Molybdenum, which significantly enhances the resistance to pitting corrosion caused by chloride ions in marine environments.
